I've given him all types of skin care products, including ProActiv, Neutrogena, Clearasil, as well as countless others. He doesn't seem motivated to want to use the products. He has admitted to being "lazy" about doing any nighttime cleansing routine. What can I do to help him be motivated to use the products?

thats a tough one, its going to be really hard to get him to take better care of his skin if he's doesnt have the want to. I like the idea of suggesting him to wash his face in the shower, but he might not even do it then. I think that when he turns 15 or 16 he'll be much more interested in that and will want to look nice overall. until then i would try a face wash in the shower, not a whole system just one face wash. and if you see him take to that, get Mario Badescu drying lotion, its $17 and a tiny bottle but totally worth it. I dont even wash my face out side of the shower and that helps so much. you just dip a q tip to the bottom, into the pink cream (dont shake it) and dab it on the worst bumps. no joke this stuff is great! but dont waste $17 on it if he's not going to use it, but ask if he's interested because its so easy, you just dab it on before bed and wipe it off with a wash cloth in the morning, THATS IT. oh and its only sold in good beauty stores so you wont find this at a drugstore
and if he's not interested now, give him time…he'll come around very soon

Try looking where all the beauty products are, like the make-up and nail polish, that is usually where they keep all the facial cleansers and moisturizers. But Avon has some great facial moisturizers online that are cheap and work great! Check it out!

I'm looking for something like Clinique, Murad, Philosophy, Skinique, Lorac…

Thanks!

I have combination skin also, so I know how some moisturizers can make your T-zone to oily and other parts so dry. I use Avène, it works. To me its the best for combination skin and is also good if you have sensitive skin and redness. I don't know where you can buy it. I live in the US and my mother has to send it to me from Canada.

http://www.aveneusa.com/

Good luck

Toothpaste?! Really?! How long do I keep that on for?

Make a paste of oatmeal and water (you can also add a little honey - it has antiseptic properties), apply to your face, leave on for 15 minutes and rinse off. Oatmeal absorbs excess oils and soothes skin irritations.

Milk of Magnesia also works great.

a harsh canadian winter (plus a long day in the sun yesterday) has really dried out my skin.

Do you know of any tried-and-tested homemade facials that can bring the glow back to my dull cheeks, without making me break out?

Thank you!

Papaya mask/exfoliant

Cut papaya in 1 inch chunks. Blend/mash 2 or 3 chunks and store the wrest in the freezer. Apply the blended/mashed papaya and leave on face for 10-20 min. Use 2 or 3x a week.
The papaya may tingle but that just means that the papaya is working and it is breaking down dead skin cells to give that lovely glow and since it breaks down the dead skin it clears out the pores and in turn they shrink!!! (You may not see the results you want until you use it for a while.)

Sea salt glow (my favorite!)

Make a paste using olive oil or fresh lemon juice to moisten the sea salt. Apply to face and gently rub skin, rinse.

(olive oil is good for dry or normal skin, lemon juice is better for oily or acne prone skin.

Baking soda microdermbrasion/exfoliant recipe

Make a paste with baking soda and water, then gently rub on face and rinse.

Banana mask

However much you want of banana . Apply to face let sit 10-15 min. Rinse

Honey & Banana mask

However much of each you'd like. Apply to face let sit 10-15 min. Rinse

Papaya & honey mask

Blend together two tbs. of honey and 1/4 a cup of mashed ripe papaya Apply to face, let sit 20 min. Rinse.

Avocado Facial Mask (Very moisturzing)

Mash/blend the inside (no pit) of the avocado into a creamy texture. Apply to face let sit for 15 - 20 minutes. Rinse.

Oatmeal Facial Mask

Take 2 tsp oatmeal and 1 tsp baking soda and add water to make paste. Apply to face, let sit 10-15 min. Rinse.

Banana Face mask for Dry Skin

Mash 1/2 cup of natural yogurt, 1 tbs. of honey, and 1/4 ripe banana. Apply this pack on face and neck and let sit for 10 minutes, rinse.

Hope this helps!!!!

Hello - I am considering opening an organic beauty and cosmetics distributorship. It is similar to an Avon business, however, the products are USDA certified organic. The products and company are GREAT - offer skincare, cosmetics, household. However, the only concern is that the price points are higher than drugstore type products. The lipsticks are about $20, skincare basic package about $100. However, given the current market and concerns of "green" living in our country, I wonder if there is a market for the right consumer. Can you help me do some consumer buying research by giving me your opinion!

I don't personally, because I did a research paper that disproved the whole organic being so much better for you thing. However I probably would buy organic beauty products if they were available. I also know many other people into the organic thing, so I think that you could make a good business. I really think you willl do well because it seems as though you are doing your home work! Good luck starting your business!
